Requesting identity leaves automatic response decoding enabled in this selected configuration.

The server can return a different encoding from the one you requested. Here it returns Brotli.

A non-null request option enables automatic decoding. The response-decoding switch is a separate setting. Try changing the request, then the switch.

A very polite request, though.

What's with the Manual?There was a small disagreement about the word “final”.

That was the review that got me dismissed. I kept the rejected pages. They made a decent coat.

The Manual was meant to explain every important machine so thoroughly that people could stop worrying about them. Every edition grew longer. Operating the machines grew harder.

I still want to finish it. Occasionally someone has to remind me that they asked for an answer, not another volume.

The Manual and its annotator are fiction.
