What's with the Manual?There was a small disagreement about the word “final”.

“Works exactly as intended.
Intent needs replacing.”

That was the review that got me dismissed. I kept the rejected pages. They made a decent coat.

The Manual was meant to explain every important machine so thoroughly that people could stop worrying about them. Every edition grew longer. Operating the machines grew harder.

I still want to finish it. Occasionally someone has to remind me that they asked for an answer, not another volume.

The Manual and its annotator are fiction.
